Ditch the Shivers, WAM Learning Delivers! Bougie Ice Classes Are Coming in 2026!
Get ready to trade frozen toes for high-fives! Bougie Ice 101 & 201 classes are right on beautiful Lake Minnetonka! Whether you're a total newbie or ready to get seriously advanced, we've got a comfortable seat (in a HEATED house!) waiting for you.
$20 per Session - Includes Lunch
$75 per person - Ice Castle Overnight Rental

Session One:
Ice 101: Go from Zero to Ice Hero! The WArM Way 9am - 12:30pm
Never dropped a line through the ice? No problem! Our morning session is built for beginners, guaranteeing you master the essentials like a pro. We'll cover:
- Session 1 - Ice Safety & Preparation
- Session 2 - Gear Introductions
- Session 3 - Bait and Tackle Basics
- Session 4 - Catching & Handling Fish
The best part? It's all happening inside a toasty, heated icehouse! No frostbite required.
Lunch:
Both 101 and 201 will get together for lunch, 12:30pm-1pm. Open Fishing and Using an Ice Auger.
Session Two:
Ice 201: Tech Talk & Next-Level Tactics! 1pm - 4pm
For those who know the basics and are ready to level up—this afternoon session is for you! We’re taking a deep dive into the cutting-edge toys and techniques that land the big ones. We’ll show you the magic of:
- Session 1 - Ice Camping
- Session 2 - Understanding Forward Facing Sonar
- Session 3 - Tip-Ups
- Session 4 - Species Specific Tactics - Walleye, Panfish, Perch
Put Your Skills to the Test!
After both classes wrap up, stick around and put your new knowledge to the ultimate test! All students will have the opportunity to fish in the super-comfy bougie houses until 5:00pm. It's the perfect victory lap! All gear, bait snacks/lunch and electronics provided. You bring yourself ~ we take care of the rest!

Overnight Ice Castle Spots! 6pm - 8:30am
Houses will be shared with up to 4 people.
**CANCELATION AND REFUND POLICY**
Cancelations made 30 days prior will be granted a 90% refund with a 10% administrative processing fee ONLY if we are able to fill your spot.
No refunds will be granted for cancelations after January 10th.

By registering for this event, you are agreeing to the following:
RISK AND LIABILITY
I understand that participating in a fishing trip is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter unless I am medically able. I assume any and all risks associated with this fishing trip, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown. Knowing these facts and in consideration of the acceptance of my application and application fee by Women Anglers of Minnesota (WAM), I hereby, for myself, my executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, agree not to sue and waive, release and discharge WAM, other competitors, hosts, sponsors, volunteers, and tournament officials, including their agents, employees, or assigns from all claims or liability of death, personal injury, or property damage of any kind arising out of or in the course of my participation in this event. I am at least 18 years of age. I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the trip rules.
MEDIA RELEASE
I grant WAM the right to use photographs, video, and information concerning my participation in this tournament for any internal WAM or third-party media.
ALCOHOL & DRUG POLICY
Consumption of alcohol on the ice is strongly discouraged. However, if you choose to drink, please do so responsibly keeping safety and the well-being of others in mind at all times. Illegal drugs of any kind are also not allowed. Any violation of this policy may result in a participant being asked to leave without a refund.
PERSONAL CONDUCT
WAM encourages all members to show respect for others, both inside and outside of the organization. Conduct by anyone on the trip that is illegal, violent, dangerous, irresponsibly puts others at risk, or is conduct that reflects poorly on Women Anglers of Minnesota may result in the member being asked to leave and no refunds will be provided.
